Selecteur is a design project that reimagines French high-end dining through the conceptual framework of the readymade art movement. At its core, the project transforms the traditional dining experience by integrating a conveyor belt system that circulates dishes throughout the space. This design approach elevates the visual presentation of each item, encourages creative mixing, and places emphasis on the diner’s active decision-making process—ultimately fostering an interactive, customizable experience.
The project’s aesthetic draws deeply from the readymade movement, reinterpreting everyday objects as sculptural elements that define the restaurant’s atmosphere. The design extends to the menus, which feature classic French dishes presented in unexpected ways, paying homage to the origins of the readymade movement in France. Through this synthesis of culinary tradition and avant-garde design, Selecteur offers a holistic dining experience that is both visually stimulating and conceptually innovative.
Brand Design
Drawing inspiration from everyday objects, the restaurant’s decor exudes a familiar, welcoming ambiance. Earthy tones and organic textures blend seamlessly with soft, warm lighting to create an inviting space. Simple, plush furniture and naturally textured walls enhance the tactile experience, while curated photography of readymade sculptures adds an artistic layer. The carefully selected color palette echoes the materials of household items and their evolving beauty with time.

To complement Selecteur’s brand identity, I designed six retail products that seamlessly integrate with the restaurant’s visual language while also standing out on their own. Centered around the concept of wine pairings and their impact on flavor intensity, each product is thoughtfully labeled with a descriptor that resonates with both a pastry and its corresponding wine.
